Log Boom to UW
“The Friday Ride” [gpx]
This is a loop that I do during the summers. It was introduced to me by a former co-worker, and we’d meet up for it on Friday mornings, thus the name.

This starts at Logboom park, heads up Juanita Way, through Kirkland to the outskirts of Bellevue, around Medina, back through Bellevue, across I-90 and Mercer Island, and then up Lake Washington through the Arbouretum to the University of Washington.

Distance: 27 miles.

Seattle - Cougar Mtn - Tiger Mtn - Renton Loop
[gpx]
Another Cascade HPC ride that starts downtown and heads east across Mercer Island, Bellevue, south to Newcastle Tiger Mountain and then back up to Seattle via Renton/Lk. Washington BVLD.
Distance: 63 miles
Seattle - Des Moines loop
[gpx]
This is a Cascade HPC ride that starts downtown and heads south through Burien, Normandy park and Des Moines before heading back up north via Kent, Tukwilla and Renton.

At 21 1/2 miles there is a really nice rest stop right on the sound. The views of the Olympics / Rainier are great. The return trip is mostly on the Green River Trail.
Distance: 50 miles

Chilly Hilly (Bainbridge Island)
[gpx]
The popular ride put on by Cascade bicycle club. You’ll need to take the ferry from downtown. It’s a nice ride, with a few hills.

Distance: 33 miles

Summits of Bothell
[gpx] [pdf]
This is a newish ride that the City of Bothell puts on in late August. It has roughly 35 miles, 7 summits and 2,900+ ft of climbing. This makes for a great training ride on a Sunday morning.

Distance: ~34miles

Hills

BGT - NE 65th (345ft)
[gpx]
This is a nice hill for doing a few loops on the way in. Head up 65th, L. on Ann Arbor, L. on 60th, L. on 52nd back to 65th and up. It’s a very short loop and is easily augmentable.
BGT - NE 70th and NE 65th (~700ft)
[gpx]
Small augmentation of the NE 65th ride, but with two hills. Connect up with the BGT for looping fun.

Shortcuts

Bothell 19th Ave area - Bothell Way shortcut This is a little shortcut if you need to get over to/from Bothell Way from the 19th Ave area. Notice on the map where you go down the cul-de-sac. Near the end, and on your left, there will be a “driveway” looking thing that goes down a hill. There will be a gate there that you can just walk/ride around. Continue on down the hill as it curves to the right. You’ll come down in behind the Pleasant Lake RV park. Just follow the one-way around the lower half of the park out to the park exit.
