Keeping it real (out there)

I’m feeling compelled to post about this real quick. In the past two months I’ve seen firetrucks and ambulances on the Burke assisting bikers in biker/biker and biker/pedestrian accidents.

I’m sure it’s somewhat common, but in the five years that I’ve been commuting on the BGT ( ~16,000 miles) I’ve only seen this sort of thing three times. Again, two of them have been in the last two months.

Perhaps everyone is starting to ride more, which is good. Just be careful. Just because you’re on a bike doesn’t mean you can’t get hurt.

Be aware of what you’re doing. Be aware of what others around you are doing.
