Another season has come and gone. So soon!?
The last Seattle Cyclocross Series race is this Sunday at Kelly Creek Farm.
Kelly Creek Farm is just outside of Sumner and has been said to be one of the best spectator courses. You will be able to see about 80% of the course from the top of the run-up area.
If you’ve wanted to see a race, or have the itch to try one out, this is your last chance. Races are $20 to enter, and $10 for a day license. You can check out start times to get an idea of when to show up. I usually show up around 9:45 so there is enough time to register and warm up a bit on the course (don’t cross the finish line if you aren’t racing).
How to get there:
* Take the Sumner/Highway 410 exit from the 167 freeway (the exit is about 4 miles northeast of Puyallup).
* Go east about 5 miles on 410 and at the top of a rather long hill turn left onto the Buckley - Sumner Highway (sometimes called the old Buckley Highway). There is a Dairy Queen on the corner.
* Continue north on the Buckley Sumner Highway a little less the 1 ½ miles. At 198th Ave E turn left into the big field (198th only goes right!) You are there.
