More from the Seattle PI :
“As gas prices climb to record highs, more Americans seem to be abandoning their cars and biking to work to save money at the pump. This week, as cities across the country celebrate national Bike-to-Work Week, advocates are promoting bicycle commuting as a way to trim transportation costs, get in shape and help the environment.”
I was remarking to a couple of friends the other day about how busy the BGT has been the past few days. At all times on the way home yesterday I had at least 5 people in front of me. After passing slow ppl, rollerbladers etc (and after having to wait for oncoming cyclists to pass) I’d get to a new group just up the way.
At 25th / blakeley there were 15 cyclists waiting to cross, and 8 on the otherside waiting. Up in Kenmore at Juanita Way same story. I was in the back of a dozen people and there were 5 on the other side.
It’s like it’s the weekend but on a Tuesday.
